How it works
A participating contractor will use advanced diagnostic tools to check and adjust your furnace for efficiency, safety and reliability - optimizing and extending the life of your equipment.
Your contractor will:
- Conduct a tune-up with combustion analysis, ensuring optimal performance from your equipment and lowering your energy costs.
- Fill out and submit a rebate complete with a tune-up report and combustion analysis online.
- Your rebate check will arrive by mail in six to eight weeks.
You qualify for a Tune Up with Combustion Analysis rebate if you are a DTE residential, natural gas customer and natural gas is the primary heat source for your home. Your furnace must have a minimum 40,000 BTU capacity.
To receive a rebate for your tune-up you must: use a participating contractor who offers diagnostic tune-up services and have a full diagnostic report captured as part of your rebate paperwork. A standard tune-up by a participating or non-participating contractor without a diagnostic tune-up report will not be eligible for a rebate.
Premise eligibility is limited to single family homes. Single family homes are defined as 2 or less connected units. Each unit must be individually metered for natural gas and electric and each unit must have its own heating, cooling and water heating equipment. There is a limit of one rebate per gas-fired furnace Tune-Up with Combustion Analysis every two years.
A participating contractor must perform the Tune-Up with Combustion Analysis and then submit your rebate application within 20 days of service.
