How it works
You qualify for a free Home Energy Consultation if you live in a single-family home, duplex or condominium (and not a multi-unit or apartment building).
Schedule an appointment with a DTE Energy Specialist who will come to your home for a basic walk-through. The Specialist will check windows and doors, ventilation and home energy uses for efficiency.
The specialist will install FREE, energy-efficient products and create a personalized home energy profile:
- Find out where your home uses and loses the most energy.
- Take advantage of energy saving opportunities for every room to save money and increase the comfort of your home.
There must be a person 18 years or older in the home at the time of your Home Energy Consultation to sign the customer authorization form.
You are eligible if you haven't had a DTE Home Energy Consultation at your home previously.
New safety procedures
In order to keep our customers and employees safe, we have adopted new safety procedures.
- For everyone’s safety, we ask that you wear a mask when our Energy Specialist is in your home. If you do not have a mask, our Specialist will provide one. If you cannot wear a mask, your appointment will need to be rescheduled to a later date.
- When arriving at work, each Energy Specialist will have their temperature taken.
- Upon arriving to a customer’s home, the Energy Specialist will apply hand sanitizer and put on latex gloves. They will also wear a N95 mask, safety goggles and protective booties.
- Prior to entering a customer’s home, the Energy Specialist will ask if anyone in the home is sick or showing symptoms such as dry cough, shortness of breath or fever. If the answer is yes, we will reschedule the appointment for a future date.
- Energy Specialists will follow social distancing guidelines, staying at least 6 feet from all individuals.
